General Information

  • How do I know the Sitter will fit our needs? CSN has a large roster of experienced and trained sitters.  Sitters review your family profile before accepting your job request; therefore they know they can meet your needs when they accept the request. (top)
  • What is the screening process for Christian Sitters Network’s babysitters? Each sitter completes a thorough application and interview process.  This process includes a minimum of three reference checks and a background check. (top)
  • How do I find a sitter through your website?  In the near future CSN’s website will be fully functional, but in the mean time requesting a sitter is as simple as sending an email.  On the website there is a sitter request form that you complete and submit.  Once the request is received by the CSN Sitter Coach, it is distributed to the sitters.  Once a sitter accepts the request, you receive a phone call from the sitter and an email confirmation from CSN. (top)
  • What is the Sitters Job Report? The Sitter Job Report is a journal the sitter keeps hourly while sitting for your children.  This journal provides you with a record of what happened while you were gone, as well as a record for our sitters to use in the future when they prepare to interact with your children on another sitting date.  CSN’s sitters want to know your children and personalize each sitting experience. (top)
  • What is a Sitter Bag? The Sitter Bag is the sitter’s “tool kit” filled with activities, games, and books that are age and interest appropriate for your child/children.  The sitter bag is designed to facilitate interaction between the sitter and child. (top)

  • How much does it cost to register on Christian Sitters Network? Annual membership fee of $12. (top)
  • Is there a minimum subscription period I have to commit to this service? No, but all registration and annual membership fees are nonrefundable. (top)
  • How much should I expect to pay a babysitter? CSN’s rates are $8 for 1-2 children, $9 for 3-4 children, and $10 for 5-6 children. (top)

  • How do I cancel my membership? Contact CSN’s billing department. (top)

Security, Privacy and Safety

  • How do background checks work for us? For the sitters? CSN has a contract with a professional security company in Dallas, Texas that handles all background checks.  CSN’s Director of Security is the only CSN employee to review the background check information. (top)
  • What do you do with the information you collect? The information is kept in a secure file in the office of CSN’s Director of Security. (top)
  • How safe is it to hire someone you meet over the Internet? CSN’s thorough hiring process makes it safe to hire a CSN sitter. (top)

Babysitters

General

  • Why should I register with Christian Sitters Network? As a CSN sitter you will receive many benefits including sitter training, mentoring by a Christian woman called a Sitter Coach, the opportunity to sit for CSN families, training in running your own business, and you will be a part of a national ministry that expands your network and opportunity for influence and earning potential. (top)
  • How old do I have to be to register as a babysitter? CSN requires sitters to be at least 13 years old. (top)
  • How do I find jobs through Christian Sitters Network? CSN’s sitters receive daily emails listing the requests for sitters. It is important that you check your email daily. (top)
  • What is a Sitter Bag? The Sitter bag is your “tool Kit” filled with items that are age appropriate for the children you sit.  CSN’s sitters are committed to being interactive sitters who make the most of each sitting job by coming prepared to interact with the children.  The Sitter Bag can be filled with games, activities, books, or other items that meet the interests of the children you sit. (top)
  • Why do I need to fill out a Sitters Job Report? The Sitter Report allows the parents to know what happened while they were gone and it allows the sitter to have a record of each sitting experience.  It is a great tool for preparing for the next time you sit for a family; you can refer to your journal to know what to put in your Sitter Bag.  The journal also is a place where you can write questions you have for the parents or your Sitter Coach. (top)

Qualifications

  • What are some of the qualifications to becoming a babysitter?  CSN wants sitters who look at sitting as a ministry, therefore CSN sitters must have be Christians.  CSN’s sitters need to love children, be responsible and honest, be safety conscious, and have a desire to learn and mature under the leadership of a Sitter Coach (a mentor). (top)
  • What kind of certifications or experience do I need to register with your Christian Sitters Network? CSN sitter must be CPR certified before they can accept and sitting jobs. (top)
  • How long will it take to complete the interview process? Once your application is received, the interview process usually takes one week. (top)
  • Why do I need to answer so many questions? CSN wants to assure our families that their sitter is qualified to care for their children.  There is no greater responsibility than caring for a child, therefore CSN has a thorough hiring process. (top)
